Abstract

Respiration and seedling vigour of naturally and artificially aged seeds of Brassica
oleracea were studied to elucidate the nature of deteriorative changes under
these two types of conditions. Results indicate that the ageing conditions had
a variable effect on oxygen uptake and seedling vigour and metabolic changes
associated with artificial ageing may differ from those during natural ageing
