Abstract

Theregion ofSouthAsiais very diverse in its physiography,
agro-ecology and climate, and possesses rich biodiversity
in cultivated crops. Several under exploited and
underutilized species occur which include native diversity
and also, well acclimatized species introduced particularly
in the past few decades.
