Abstract

An analysis of the risk to rose plants in India from possible introduction of plant parasitic nematodes
is done by assembling relevant biological, climatic and commercial information. The risk presented
by different exchange propagules is assessed and phytosanitary measures to reduce the risks are
proposed. The conclusions of the PRA, based on EPPO guideline No.1, is that nematodes of species
pot yet reported from India, present a serious risk to the industry. All sorts of exchange of live
material should be rooted through quarantine inspection.
